The Morning Message:Pastor Alan Atchison:“ Against the Grain” Based on the text from Matthew 5: 38 – 48. The Reading of the Holy Scriptures: Leviticus 19:1-2; 9-18. The First Sunday of Lent in 2026 is February 22. It follows Ash Wednesday and marks the start of the 40-day Lenten season, emphasizing prayer, fasting, and almsgiving in preparation for Easter. The day commonly features Gospel readings regarding the temptation of Jesus in the desert. Thank you for joining us at GUMC.
